Mining, partnership, and productive leadership: a strategic alliance for local development

As part of its institutional engagement policy, PSJ Cobre Mendocino presented the main guidelines of its mining project to ADERPE, a leading entity in promoting business partnership and leadership in Greater Mendoza.

During the meeting, technical, environmental, and economic details of the Project were shared, with special emphasis on compliance with Law 7722, the use of clean technologies, and the vision of modern mining integrated into local productive chains. The presentation generated dialogue with representatives from the region’s industrial, logistics, and services sectors.

Entrepreneurs from the area received information on the Project’s progress, including its alignment with Law 7722, the application of low-impact technologies such as mechanical flotation with biodegradable reagents, and local development plans centered on hiring Mendoza’s workforce and suppliers.

“We are convinced that mining can be integrated into Mendoza’s productive fabric, boosting sectors such as transport, metal-mechanics, construction, and general services. That is why this dialogue with ADERPE is key to building strategic alliances with the local private sector,” said Fabián Gregorio, President of PSJ.

ADERPE highlighted the importance of connecting Mendoza’s business sector with projects that promote a regional value chain and generate positive economic and social impact. PSJ expects to create approximately 3,900 jobs (direct and indirect) during the construction stage and 2,400 during operations (800 direct and 1,600 indirect), in addition to promoting training and education opportunities in Uspallata and across the province.

The presentation was part of a series of institutional meetings that PSJ is carrying out with business chambers, municipalities, universities, and technical bodies, within the framework of the Project’s environmental evaluation stage.
