The Project’s technical and management team shared updates on progress, key investment data, and its proposal to strengthen local employment and the provincial value chain.

At a meeting held at the headquarters of the Economic Federation of Mendoza (FEM), representatives of the PSJ Cobre Mendocino project presented to authorities and business chambers the main guidelines of the mining initiative, which is currently in the environmental evaluation stage. The presentation covered technical aspects, the planned investment framework, and the opportunities it creates for Mendoza’s suppliers and workers.

It was highlighted that PSJ will be the first copper operation in the province, with an estimated investment of more than USD 500 million and an average production of 150,000 tons of concentrate per year, equivalent to 40,000 tons of fine copper. Once approved, the Project will carry out its processes under the guidelines of Law 7722, through mechanical flotation with biodegradable reagents, without the use of prohibited substances.

In addition, training programs in trades, the registration of local suppliers, purchases from Mendoza-based entrepreneurs, and initiatives aimed at strengthening activities such as transportation, construction, services, and commerce were reviewed.

FEM valued the opportunity to share perspectives and technical dialogue, while reaffirming its willingness to support proposals that drive and diversify Mendoza’s economic matrix.
