The workshop, introductory in level and with both theoretical and practical components, was held in Uspallata with strong participation. Its goal was to provide concrete tools for safe driving in mountain terrain. The initiative is part of PSJ’s community training plan, aimed at generating local employability, fostering strategic skills, and supporting regional development through knowledge.

As part of its local training and development program, PSJ Cobre Mendocino awarded certificates to more than 40 participants who successfully completed the theoretical-practical course “Defensive Driving and the Use of 4×4 Vehicles – Introductory Level” held in Uspallata.

The six-hour training combined fundamental technical and practical content for safe driving on mountain roads, with a focus on prevention, efficiency in high-altitude contexts, and responsibility behind the wheel. The closing ceremony brought together more than 80 community members from Uspallata.

This initiative is part of the PSJ Community Outreach Plan, whose central goal is to generate real opportunities for training and local employment, fostering community rootedness, strengthening residents’ technical preparation, and promoting shared growth.

“We believe that knowledge is the foundation for regional development. This training not only provides concrete tools but also strengthens the bond between the Project and residents, opening new doors for the local economy,” the PSJ team highlighted.

PSJ Cobre Mendocino continues advancing with training programs in trades, circular economy, supplier development, and participatory workshops, consolidating its commitment to modern, transparent mining that respects both the environment and the community.

These training programs also seek to prepare the population for the opportunities that will arise from the Project, positioning Uspallata as a key hub for copper-based energy transition development.
