The participatory process continues with a plurality of voices and strong presence of Uspallata residents, reaffirming the value of citizen participation in the evaluation of the Project.
On Monday, August 4, the third session of the Public Hearing for the PSJ Cobre Mendocino Project took place, reaffirming its open, participatory, and plural character. Residents, organizations, and institutions shared their views.
Since the beginning of the Hearing, multiple voices have been heard, mostly from the Uspallata community, with contributions covering the project’s social, environmental, technical, and economic aspects. The diversity of perspectives has enriched the process, consolidating this stage as a genuine exercise in transparency and democracy.
“The Hearing is developing in a democratic process with different voices expressed throughout, which will be incorporated into the evaluation record. We are very satisfied with this participatory process,” said Fabián Gregorio, CEO of PSJ Cobre Mendocino.
A space where every voice counts
On this third day, participation remained strong, with pre-assigned speaking turns and an organization that guarantees equal conditions for all speakers.
