The hearing, officially convened by the Government of Mendoza, has more than 3,800 registered participants. It began today, Saturday, August 2, in Yalguaraz with a comprehensive operation and assigned time slots to ensure representative and orderly participation.
This Saturday, August 2, the Public Hearing of the PSJ Cobre Mendocino Project began. This is a key stage in the environmental evaluation process, providing citizens the opportunity to express their views on the proposed copper mining development in Uspallata.
The hearing, organized by the Government of Mendoza, is being held at Estancia Yalguaraz. The site was specially prepared to host participants for several days, with speakers presenting in pre-assigned time slots.
At the start of the hearing, Fabián Gregorio, CEO of PSJ, emphasized: “Our purpose is clear: to demonstrate that it is possible to conduct mining responsibly, complying with provincial legislation, following the highest international standards, and generating real development for the Province.”
He added: “PSJ represents a concrete opportunity to diversify Mendoza’s productive matrix, integrating mining into a balanced economic model alongside agriculture, tourism, and industry, while driving local development and creating real, quality jobs.”
